Herein is a list of all of the projects on my various assortment of back burners, and (if applicable) how many parts remain. Short blurbs will tend to accompany them as well.

I've switched to this instead of a "WIP" list primarily because I have a number of proposed projects which aren't actually started yet. The list is organized by fandom, universe-within-fandom, and alphabetical order. The organization of the list does not reflect priority in terms of when they'll be written.

Updated: 18 May, 2009

Stargate Atlantis )
Torchwood )
Various & Sundry (Less than 3 Fics in the Fandom, Crossovers, Gift!Fic, Etc) )

Anything I'm missing?

Title: Meet the Novaks (4/4)
Previous Parts: 1, 2, 3, and the Interlude (2A)
Universe: Memoirs
Author: [info]miriel
Pairing: Lorne/Novak
Rating: PG
Author's Note: This part concludes the final installment in the "Memoirs" universe. It's been almost exactly two years in the making. I'll be doing a general clean-up of the webpages associated with the universe in the next week or so (including some possible beta-work on a few which never got that second glance), but the basic content is in. W00T! Thanks to everyone who's been cheerleading this along so diligently. This part clocks in at a surprising high 4,500 words. I hope you enjoy it, and as always, feel free to leave con-crit.

Summary: The first sign was the silence. )

Almost, but not quite: anxious

Title: Meet the Novaks (3/4)
Previous Parts: 1, 2, and Interlude
Universe: Memoirs
Author: [info]miriel
Beta: [info]ladyholder
Pairing: Lorne/Novak
Rating: PG
Author's Note: There are, I am told, quite a number of people who will be pleased to see this particular project resurrected from the depths. [info]druidspell and [info]loriel_eris get credit as head cheerleaders for their sheer persistence in the matter. Thanks to everyone who's put up with my flailing and OOC-concerns, and reassured me that I'm not completely out in left field. Well, most of the time, anyway. This one clocked in at around 3300 words.

Summary: I can't change the past. I don't even know if I'd want to, to be honest. But I'm here now, so what do you want from me? )

Almost, but not quite: accomplished

Title: From Tears to Tribbles
Universe: Memoirs, primarily a sequel to Contact.
Author: [info]miriel
Beta: [info]ladyholder (who also gets title credit)
Rating: PG
Author's Note: Second half of [info]adafrog's birthday present. A brief, 600-odd word day-in-the-life following Contact.

Summary: Some elements of childcare are universal, wherever the child may be. )

Title: Contact
Universe: Memoirs, primarily a sequel to Re-Connect.
Author: [info]miriel
Rating: PG
Author's Note: More a ficlet than an actual fic, clocking in at 900 words, this is a (very) belated birthday present for [info]adafrog, who wanted to see Ben Sheppard back in Atlantis. Somewhat of a correlary to Our Children's Children. I will also note, I fell off the fic-writing band-wagon for a bit there, so please forgive me my trespasses in advance.

Summary: Three years after Re-Connect, Ben Sheppard's life changed for the better. )

Almost, but not quite: relieved

HGP Recipient: [info]druidspell, who wanted “Lorne and Beth :)”

Title: Pleasant Surprises
Universe: Memoirs
Author: [info]miriel
Rating: PG
Pairing: Implied Lorne/Novak
Author's Note: It's been forever and a day since I wrote in Memoirs, and I'd forgotten how much I miss this dark little universe (granted, it's not as bad as, say, Bridges gets in spots, but still). The word count ended up around 950. This did not at all evolve as I anticipated, BTW.

Summary: For most of her life, Beth Lorne was a surprise to at least one of her parents. )

Almost, but not quite: groggy
I'm hearing: Voodoo Child - Rogue Traders

Title: Memoirs Shorts
Universe: Memoirs
Author: [info]miriel
Rating: Ranges from PG-R
Pairings: Lorne/Novak, Lorne/Parrish, McKay/Sheppard
Author's Note: None of these are new, per se; what's new is the format. I've gone through and pulled all of the shorts - 1,000 words or less - from the Memoirs universe together on one page for convenience. The page also includes links to the longer pieces in the series at their appropriate chronological position.

Summary: 2006 to 2024, in glimpses

Almost, but not quite: drained

Title: Meet the Novaks - Interlude
Universe: Memoirs
Previous Parts: Part 1, Part 2
Rating/Pairing: PG; Lorne/Novak
Author's Note: Written for [info]fred_god_of in response to her prompt. Set after Part 2 of Meet the Novaks. 587 Words.

Summary: We are so screwed. )

Almost, but not quite: chipper

Title: The Cousins McKay
Universe: Memoirs
Author: [info]miriel
Rating/Pairing: PG; McKay/Sheppard
Author's Note: This was supposed to be a drabble response to a prompt. It's, um, not. Written for [info]loriel_eris, who wanted a Morgan Sheppard old enough to speak visiting Earth. Spoilers for McKay & Mrs. Miller. 1,937 words.

Summary: For her fourth birthday, Morgan Sheppard's parents got her a cousin. )

Almost, but not quite: confused

Title: Meet the Novaks Part 2
Previous Parts: Part 1
Universe: Memoirs
Pairing/Rating: Lorne/Novak, PG
Author's Note: So this was originally one of my [info]14valentines, and Part 1 was even posted on Day 13. I just, er, got a little lost. It was also supposed to be simply parts 1 & 2. Somehow it's grown a bit. Sorry about that! Figure a likelihood of 4 parts, but I'm not committing yet. Thanks for your patience! Also, this part is totally dedicated to [info]druidspell and her never-ending campaign to see this fic completed.

Summary: We're on Earth, right? It's supposed to be safe on Earth. No Wraith. No machine men. Right? )

Title: Meet the Novaks (1/4)
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Lorne/Novak
Author's Note: So I fell behind. Like, a lot. I apologize, and have already vowed to start my 2008 Valentines in November instead of December. This state has resulted in MtN being posted in two parts, however. Thanks for bearing with me.

Valentine's Advert: Voting.

Summary: Lindsey considered very seriously turning around and running all the way back to Atlantis )

Almost, but not quite: dying

Title: A Day in the Life of (a Very Troubled) John Sheppard
Rating: PG
Pairings: Many implied, few explicit. Check the Memoirs page for more details.
Author's Note: Beta-Cred can be found here.

Valentine's Advert: Today's community focus is Women in the Arts. Again, I remind you that the daily topics do not necessarily have anything to do with the works posted.

Summary: April, 2012. John's life is so hard. No, really. Memoirs Universe.

I said that I would post a notification when this had been beta'd and finished up. That has now finally happened. I give you what is chronologically the first story in the Memoirs universe, clocking in at around 13,500 words.

Title: Re-Connect
Author: [info]miriel
Beta: [info]scififreak I was going to use [info]wychwood, but I'm impatient. Sorry Wych!
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Rating: PG-13
Author's Note: This started as a tiny little plot bunny, and sort of grew. A lot. Thanks to everyone who tossed input my way while the initial, un-beta'd version of this was being written. Cover art is courtesy of [info]wychwood

Summary: After 15 years of estrangement, General Sheppard decided to attempt the impossible - a reconcilliation with his son. That simple decision would open his eyes to a whole new world. Literally.

Two Things:

I've managed to be talked / talk myself into a new piece. Working Title is : Teyla!Uncensored. That may well change.

Premise Elements:
  • It's in the Memoirs Universe

  • It begins after Impossible Things by about a month or two.

  • Both Slash & Het pairings, some already referenced in Memoirs and others are new

  • More Specific Elements:

    • The forbidden broom-closet romance of Weir & Zelenka

    • Teyla! Uncensored!

    • Lorne learning the realities of impending fatherhood; no one feels sorry for him.

    • Sheppard Just Wanting To Sleep

Also.

For this piece, I'm trying a new approach. I'm creating a mailing list (My own hosting, not yahoogroups) through which I will distribute new & unbeta'd parts. When the whole piece is completed, it will go up in my journal. If this works well I might continue the approach.

In addition, I'll be using the list for announcements regarding new Memoirs pieces in general. Specifically on Teyla!Uncensored, I'll be looking for plot input and rather serious constructive feedback, so consider this your attempt to influence my stab at crack for this month.

If you're interested, please either EMail me via the EMail listed in my userinfo, or reply to this post with your email in the format 'name @ domain . xxx'. I'll be screening replies to keep the addresses less-broadcast.

Title: VI. Posterum (Future)
Author:[info]miriel
Series: Impossible Things - Set October-December, 2011 in the Memoirs Universe
Previous Installments: I. Tempus Fugit II. Cogito III. Videmur IV. Fidelis V. Tres V.2 Married Life
Pairing:Lorne/Novak
Rating: PG
Author's Note: OMG It's done. This is the last installment in a set of glipses into Lorne & Novak's evolving relationship over the course of a year - December, 2010 to December, 2011. It coincides with Blurred. I feel the need to mention that [info]mklutz came up with the diagnosis of "Space Mono" first. Standard Memoirs Caveats apply.

Summary: Out of sight, out of mind is a wonderful theory. It’s also an affliction that most of the population of Atlantis suffers under regarding anything short of a space-travel capable enemy. )

Author's Note: An interlude following the fifth (of six) in a set of short (1-2,000 Word) glimpses into Lorne & Novak's adjustment to the severance and their own new relationship. Coincides with Blurred. Standard Memoirs caveats apply.

Summary: This isn’t an invasion-level threat, just a glorified black-out... )

Title: IV. Fidelis (Faithful)
Author:[info]miriel
Series: Impossible Things - Set June, 2011 in the Memoirs Universe
Previous Installments: I. Tempus Fugit II. Cogito III. Videmur
Pairing:Lorne/Novak
Rating: PG-13
Author's Note: The fourth (of six) in a set of short (1-2,000 Word) glimpses into Lorne & Novak's adjustment to the severance and their own new relationship. Coincides with Blurred. Standard Memoirs caveats apply. This piece just about killed me, getting it to pulled even somewhat coherently together. Just as fair warning. Thanks to [info]adafrog for medical advising.

Summary: When in doubt, fall back on courtesy (Especially when your boss heads for left field and -doesn’t- appear batshit crazy). )
